Republicans Cut Benifits to 1.3 Million Unemployed Citizens

On January 14th, 2014 the Senate led by Democrat Harry Reid voted to extend Unemployment benefits to the 1.3 million people who lost their benefits in December 2013. Republicans filibustered to prevent those people from getting benefits. This filibuster made a super majority of 60 votes necessary to pass the bill. Click here to read article
